LAHORE: The citizens of the provincial capital are witnessing a severe monsoon wave in the provincial capital with Scattered rains, gusty winds causing flash floods in several areas of Punjab.
According to the Meteorological Department (PMD), a Seasonal low lies over central Balochistan. Strong moist currents from the Bay of Bengal & Arabian Sea are penetrating into the country. A westerly wave is also affecting the country.
Cloudy weather with rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Northeast/South Balochistan, and Gilgit Baltistan. Heavy to very heavy falls are also expected at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Upper/South Punjab, Islamabad, and Northeast/South Balochistan
Additionally, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued high alerts for Punjab amid the heavy rain, which may cause flash floods.
