ALASKA: The sun rose on May 9 in the city of Attica, Alaska, USA, and will not set for the next 84 days.
The sun setting 84 days after the sun sets means that there will be 24 hours of continuous sunlight for about the next 3 months, and when the 84 days are complete, the sun will set and then the entire city will be plunged into the darkness of the night for a few months.
Due to Attica’s proximity to the North Pole, the days and nights there are several months long.
During the summer, the city has daylight for several months, and in the winter, the entire city remains immersed in darkness for several months.
According to experts, even after the sun sets, the complete darkness of the night will not appear until September 21 at the location where Attica is located on Earth.
