Washington, D.C:In a shocking move, the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) of the United States, Joe Kent, has resigned from his position.
Joe Kent announced his resignation by posting on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that after thorough consideration, he has decided to resign as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

He further stated that ‘I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
While thanking America and his team members for giving him the opportunity, he added that it has been an honor serving under and leading the professionals at NCTC.
