Earthquake tremors felt in Türkiye–Syria border region

ANKARA: Earthquake tremors have been felt in the border area of ​​Turkiye and Syria on Wednesday, according to media reports.

According to Arab media reports, the earthquake’s magnitude was recorded at 5.6 on the Richter scale. The tremors were felt in the border and surrounding areas, causing panic among citizens, who came out of their homes.

According to initial reports, no casualties or financial losses have been reported from the earthquake.

It should be remembered that the Turkey and Syria region has been hit by severe earthquakes in the past as well.

Earthquake tremors felt in parts of the country, no casualties reported

Earlier, Strong earthquake tremors were felt in various cities of the country on Monday, causing panic among residents in several areas.

According to reports, tremors were experienced in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Swat and Malakand, prompting people to come out of their homes and buildings in fear.

The Seismological Center stated that the earthquake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale, while its depth was recorded at 130 kilometers.

Officials said the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range.

No loss of life or property has been reported so far following the earthquake, according to initial reports from local authorities.
