ISLAMABAD: Five other European countries have agreed to provide jobs to Pakistanis after Italy, according to media reports.
An important conference of interior ministers from 6 countries on illegal immigration was held in Warsaw, Poland, where Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi led the Pakistani delegation.
The interior ministers of Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, and Lithuania represented their respective countries in the conference.
The meeting appreciated Pakistan’s steps to prevent illegal immigration and human trafficking, and the interior ministers paid tribute to Pakistan.
According to the conference statement, all five European countries agreed to provide jobs for Pakistan at the official level, while they also agreed to take joint measures and increase effective coordination to prevent illegal immigration.
On this occasion, it was decided that the 6 countries would appoint focal points within their respective interior ministries to improve coordination, while adopting a coordinated strategy to address common challenges.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan currently serves as a strong wall between the world and terrorists in Afghanistan.
He said that the strict crackdown against the human trafficking mafia has yielded encouraging results and illegal immigration from Pakistan to Europe has decreased by 47 percent.
The Federal Interior Minister said that European countries and Pakistan can overcome this major challenge with mutual cooperation.
