TEHRAN: According to a British newspaper report, Israel hacked Tehran’s cameras and mobile phone networks to monitor the movements of the Iranian Supreme Leader.
The British newspaper Financial Times has reported, citing several current and former Israeli intelligence officials, that Israel hacked Tehran’s traffic cameras and mobile phone networks for years to monitor the movements of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According to the report, almost all of Tehran’s traffic cameras were secretly connected to Israeli servers and their recordings were secretly transmitted.
A source said that a specific camera angle provided important information about the parking of Khamenei’s personal vehicles and their daily activities.
According to the newspaper, through sophisticated methods and social network analysis, detailed information was collected about members of Khamenei’s security staff, including their addresses, duty hours and responsibilities.
The report also said that Israel had affected parts of mobile phone towers near Khamenei’s compound to prevent advance notifications to security staff.
According to sources, signals confirmed that Khamenei and other top officials were present at the compound on the morning of the attack.
