DUBAI: The Airport Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have updated the list of restricted items while flying from the UAE.
The advisory follows Emirates’ recent ban on using power banks onboard from October.
Dubai Airport bans sharp tools, scissors with blades over 6cm, weapons, firearms, martial arts gear, any other sports equipment, and more than one lighter.
Some items are allowed under conditions which include liquids up to 100ml each, prescription medicines with proof, medical devices with a certificate, and a power bank under 100 Wh (100-160 Wh with airline approval, over 160Wh banned
Sharjah Airport prohibits bludgeons, flammable substances, hazardous chemicals, firearms, explosives, large knives, martial art weapons, radioactive or toxic material, and imitation weapons.
Liquids up to 100 ml must be in a clear 20×20 cm bag; medicines and baby food require separate presentation and proof if needed.
