ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has issued an important message for beneficiaries regarding the transfer and withdrawal of quarterly financial assistance through digital wallets.
As per BISP, beneficiaries will get an SMS on their cell phones once the quarterly aid amount has been credited to their e-wallets by the concerned banks.
Moreover, the program has also informed that beneficiaries will get one more SMS after withdrawing the amount. This SMS will carry all details of the transaction, along with the amount received and the amount withdrawn.
BISP explained that the newly introduced system would increase transparency in payments and allow beneficiaries to keep track of the process more effectively.
It is further recommended that beneficiaries should check the SMS details carefully. In case any retailer does not give the complete amount and makes any deductions, beneficiaries could use SMS as proof of demanding the complete amount.
BISP asked beneficiaries to stay alert in this regard and take all the required steps for getting their complete due share.
How to Check Your BISP Balance through 8171 in Pakistan
The Government of Pakistan has made it easier for beneficiaries of the Ehsaas and Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to check their payment status through official verification channels. Eligible individuals can confirm their balance using the 8171 web portal, SMS service, or by visiting the nearest payment center.
Check Ehsaas Balance Through the 8171 Web Portal
The quickest way to verify your Ehsaas payment is through the official 8171 web portal. Users need to enter their 13-digit Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number, complete the security verification, and submit the request. Within seconds, the portal displays the applicant’s eligibility and the latest payment status.
Verify Payment via SMS
People without internet access can check their Ehsaas balance by sending their 13-digit CNIC number via SMS to 8171 using the mobile number registered in their name. After a short wait, they will receive a reply confirming their eligibility and payment details.
Visit the Nearest Payment Center
Beneficiaries living in remote areas or those facing issues with online verification can visit the nearest Ehsaas or BISP payment center. Applicants should carry their original CNIC, where officials will verify their records and provide updated payment information.
The government has advised citizens to use only official channels, including the 8171 web portal and SMS service, to avoid misinformation and fraud. Beneficiaries are also encouraged not to share their CNIC details with unauthorized individuals or third parties.
