LAHORE: In a crackdown on illegal commercial activities, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed more than 20 establishments on Wahda Road, here on Tuesday.

As per the details, the operation targeted businesses operating without the necessary approvals of failing to pay commercialization fees.

Among the sealed premises were notable entities such as Allied Bank Limited and Mahmood Pharmacy, alongside various other shops, including pharmacies, a bakery, a grocery store, and a restaurant.

The LDA’s actions were part of a broader effort to enforce building regulations and ensure compliance with zoning laws.

LDA Director Town Planning Zone-I Ayesha Mutahir, led the operations, supported by enforcement teams, police, and heavy machinery. The authority indicated that multiple notices had been issued to the owners prior to these enforcement actions.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts against illegal constructions and defaulters of commercialization fees, promising that such operations will continue in Lahore.
