According to the draft, textile exports are planned to reach $29.38 billion by 2029-30, while in the previous fiscal year 2024-25, these exports were $17.88 billion.

The textile export target for the current fiscal year has been proposed to be $19.37 billion. The draft policy also presents export targets for the coming years, according to which $21.42 billion for 2026-27, $23.74 billion for 2027-28 and $26.71 billion for 2028-29.

The new policy emphasizes promoting ‘Made in Pakistan’, reducing business costs and providing a conducive business environment for industrialists.

Increasing the use of value-added products and local raw materials has also been declared an important part of the policy.

The final approval of the Textile and Apparel Policy will be taken from the federal cabinet, while it is likely to be presented in the ECC meeting before that.
