KARACHI: The gold prices in Pakistan reached an all-time high on Friday, surpassing Rs300,000 per tola for the first time due to a sharp surge in rates.
According to the All Pakistan Gems Jewellers Traders and Exporters Association, the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,346, reaching a record high of Rs300,346 per tola.
Similarly, the price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold also increased significantly as it went up by Rs1,154 to Rs257,241. The price of 22-karat gold for 10 grams also increased to Rs235,812.
Silver prices also increased, with the per tola rate increasing by Rs51 to Rs3,378, and the 10-gram price increasing by Rs44 to Rs2,896. The surge in gold and silver prices in Pakistan is reflective of the trends in the international market, where gold gained $10 per ounce to trade at $2,869.
The sharp increase in gold prices is likely to impact the demand for gold in the country, particularly in the jewelry sector, which is a significant consumer of the precious metal.
The All Pakistan Gems Jewellers Traders and Exporters Association closely monitors the gold and silver prices in the country and provides regular updates to help traders and consumers make informed decisions.
