Government issues notification for new official Flour prices

Flour prices surge across Pakistan after new wheat crop arrival

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi has issued new official flour prices in the city.

According to the notification issued, the prices of flour at the wholesale and retail levels have been re-determined so that the citizens can be provided with flour at official rates.

According to the notification, the wholesale price of ordinary flour (2.5 pieces) has been fixed at Rs 122 per kg, while the retail official price of the same flour will be Rs 125 per kg.

Similarly, the wholesale price of fine flour has been fixed at Rs 132 per kg, while fine flour will be sold at retail at Rs 135 per kg. Commissioner Karachi has also fixed the official price of milled flour at Rs 145 per kg.

The district administration has been directed to ensure strict implementation of the government rates and take legal action against shopkeepers charging exorbitant prices.

Citizens have also been asked to buy flour only at the government rates and report any violation to the concerned administration.
Notification of new government flour rates issued, big news for the public
On the other hand, flour prices are continuing to increase in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the price of a 20 kg bag of flour has increased by Rs 250 in just two days to exceed Rs 2900.

The prices of fine flour, special flour, mixed flour, red flour and maida have also increased once again in the open market, which has further increased the problems of the citizens.

It should be noted that tandoor owners have further reduced the weight of roti, justifying the increasing price. Bakers say that prices are continuously increasing due to disruptions and restrictions in the supply of flour from Punjab, which is having a direct impact on the price and weight of bread.
