KPK govt likely to increase salaries by 10 percent in budget

FCC announces 50% increase in employees’ allowances

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government is  likely to increase salaries by 10 percent and pensions by 7 percent in the next budget, according to media reports.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will present the budget of Rs 2,070 billion on June 13.

Rs 1,352 billion is likely to be allocated for ongoing expenditure, Rs 680 billion for salaries and Rs 200 billion for pensions. Sources say that the KP government is expected to get Rs 1,148 billion in NFC.

Earlier, Following the relief from the federal government, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also approved the proposal for an increase of 10 percent in salaries of the government employees in the provincial budget for the next fiscal year 2025-26.

The federal government also proposed an increase in the salaries of federal employees (Grade-1 to Grade-22) by 10 percent, while the retired government servants will be eligible for a 7pc pension raise in light of the budget for the next financial year.

In line with the federal government, the chief minister also approved the 7 percent increase in pensions of the retired provincial government employees.
