Finance Minister unveils Pakistan Economic Survey 2024-25

ISLAMABAD: Government employees received disappointing news as Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb indicated that no proposal for salary or pension hike is under consideration in the upcoming budget.

In a written reply presented during the Question Hour in the National Assembly, the finance minister confirmed that the government has no plans to increase salaries or allocate pension in the upcoming fiscal year. He further clarified that there is no proposal to revise the pay scales or allowances of employees.

However, he mentioned that the government is reviewing the ceiling of hiring and housing allowances. Nevertheless, federal government employees should not expect a pension hike in the upcoming budget.

The announcement comes at a time when inflation and economic challenges are putting pressure on the domestic budget, leaving many government employees worried about their financial condition.
