Pakistan to enforce Digital Fuel Quota System at petrol pumps

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has decided to implement a digital fuel management system at petrol pumps.

According to details, the government has decided to implement a digital fuel management system at petrol pumps, under which a quota of petrol will be set for the personal vehicles of citizens and no more petrol will be available.

According to sources, mobile handsets approved by NITB and PTA will be used for the fuel management system and preparations have been completed for the provision of mobile phones at petrol pumps for the implementation of petrol quota.

According to sources, the IT Ministry has completed the testing of mobile phones for provision at petrol pumps, while the National IT Board has approved the mobile phones to be purchased for OMCs.

According to sources, the testing of the application developed for fuel management on mobile phones has also been completed.
