LAHORE: Solar panel prices in Pakistan have increased significantly ahead of the upcoming federal budget for fiscal year 2024-25.
Amid the reports claiming that the federal govt is planning to impose additional taxes on solar panels in the budget, solar panel traders have raised the prices.
Consumers are facing financial strain due to the rising costs of solar panels, especially those who are participating in the federal government’s net metering program.
Pakistan’s solar panel prices are subject to fluctuations due to a range of economic reasons and the sporadic political unrest that occurs there. The efficiency rating, capacity, installation requirements, and reputation of the brand all contribute to the rising expenses.
Latest Solar Panel Prices in Pakistan for June
The price of solar panels was increased by Rs8 per watt. The 588-wat solar panel plate will now cost up to 5,000. Similarly, the price of 180 to 280 watts ranges between Rs1,000 – Rs1,500.

The federal government announced a tentative plan to unveil the country’s budget for 2024-25 on June 12 as National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, using his special powers, “appointed” three standing committees on an interim basis to get approval of pending bills.
