Bad news for KP teachers: Details inside

Punjab to introduce mandatory teaching licenses

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has imposed a province-wide ban on all appointments and transfers of male and female teachers in the elementary and secondary education department.

The move was taken after a high-level departmental review meeting chaired by the chief minister, aimed at ensuring transparency and stability in the education system.

According to an official notification issued by the secretary for elementary and secondary education, the ban will remain in effect across all teaching categories. However, the ban does not apply to appointments made by the KP Public Service Commission, promotions approved by the provincial selection board or departmental promotion committee, transfers as per court orders, and teachers currently awaiting posting.

In addition, the department announced plans to introduce a new e-posting and transfer policy to smoothen future transfers.

Under the upcoming digital system, a dedicated online portal will be launched to handle all postings and transfers, especially during summer and winter vacations.
