PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has said it would initiate a double-shift school system to provide education to remote areas at an easier cost.
The spokesperson of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Faraz Ahmad Mughal, stated that the second shift will be run in selected schools so that students from distant areas will have more opportunities to learn without issues of long distances or less availability of classes.
To carry out the program, over 2,500 teachers will be employed temporarily. These consist of 1,804 primary and 639 secondary school teachers, all employed on contract. The applications can be submitted to local district education offices or on the education department‘s official portal.
Mughal said the provincial government has allotted a record education budget and is striving to equip schools with basic facilities. Training of teachers and the implementation of modern teaching techniques are also being given importance to enhance the overall quality of education.
The government is giving extra attention to educating girls by opening new schools for girls and initiating scholarship schemes of scholarships.
These measures are part of a larger initiative to improve the quality of education and provide every child with proper learning facilities, the spokesperson said.
