KP CM Gandapur to provide new furniture in schools across province

PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced that furniture will be provided to all students who are studying in the government sector schools in the upcoming fiscal year.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur instructed the authorities to make sure that no student in government schools is required to sit on the floor because of the absence of furniture.

The Chief Minister reiterated that money for school furniture will be available on a priority basis as part of the ongoing educational emergency of the province.

He also emphasized the governments focus on upgrading elementary facilities in schools, such as the availability of good furniture, working washrooms, and pure drinking water.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister ordered the introduction of a special programme to upgrade the standard of education in government schools. This also includes compulsory modern training for all the newly appointed teachers.

The choices were made in a meeting to complete the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the new financial year. The key provincial officials were present at the meeting, which was aimed at scrutinizing and finalizing development proposals from different departments.

The Chief Minister declared that the new ADP would emphasize pragmatic projects addressing the actual needs of people, with an emphasis on finishing ongoing projects and elevating backward areas. He promised to distribute development funds equally in all the constituencies of the province.
