KARACHI: The government of Sindh has announced a girls’ stipend for over 2,700 students across the province on Wednesday, according to a notification by the School Education and Literacy Department.
The stipend given to the girls will make them eligible to study in 90 universities across the country.
Stipend will be awarded to the female students having more than 60% attendance in five months (August, September, October, November, and December) of the academic year 2024-25. Girls from classes sixth, ninth, and tenth are eligible for the stipends.
Additionally, Students from the school under the administrative control of the School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, and such schools have been allotted a valid SEMIS Code.
“The number of students benefiting from the Sindh Education Endowment Fund has reached 7,600 this year,” Sindh government spokesperson Samita Afzal said while adding that “Nearly 40,000 students have benefited from the Sindh Education Endowment Fund so far.
Furthermore, the Sindh government is also providing scholarships to students of the province at Oxford University, she added.
It is worth noting that the Sindh Education Endowment Fund has been established to help poor and talented students in higher education.
