LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department has imposed a complete ban on the use of mobile phones by students in all government and private schools across the province.
Schools have been ordered to implement the ban forthwith without exemption, according to an official notification issued to all heads of education authorities.
The department has also instructed schools to ensure that students participate actively in co-curricular and personality-building activities, stating that this is necessary for their healthy mental and social development.
It has been issued in line with a resolution passed by the Punjab Assembly for a more focused academic environment and to safeguard students from unnecessary and injurious mobile phone usage during school hours.
According to officials, the move aims to ensure improved discipline and fewer distractions and leads to an overall healthier and safer learning environment.
