Punjab makes major changes in class 9 and 11 courses

LAHORE: In a significant move to modernize education, the Punjab government has announced major changes to the curriculum for Class 9 and 11 students, effective from the next academic year.

The updated curriculum aims to meet current academic standards, address evolving student needs, and emphasize Pakistan’s cultural and historical significance, particularly in Islamiat and Social Studies.

The changes are designed to provide a more relevant and modernized educational experience for students in the province.

Subjects to receive revised curriculum

According to a recent notification by the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB), these changes will include revisions to key subjects like:

  •  Urdu
  •  English
  •  Physics
  •  Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Computer Science
  • Mathematics

To support the revised curriculum, the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) will print new textbooks, which are expected to be available before the new academic year begins. This will ensure a smooth transition for students and teachers.

These changes are part of a broader effort by the Punjab government to enhance the quality of education across the region, preparing students for success in an ever-changing world.
