LAHORE: According to Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, all public and private educational institutions in the province will reopen on Monday (tomorrow).
After being temporarily halted because of recent cross-border tensions, academic activities in schools, colleges, and universities have resumed as a result of the decision.
The minister affirmed in a statement released on Thursday that all institutions will immediately resume regular academic operations.
Following Indian drone attacks that targeted regions in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the closures were put into effect on May 7. The provincial education department announced a temporary suspension of classes in all public and private institutions due to the security situation.
The attacks also caused the intermediate exams that were supposed to start on Friday, May 9 to be postponed by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) in Lahore, Multan, and other regional boards.
The Quran translation and ethics papers were among the impacted ones, according to Zahid Mian, Controller of Examinations at BISE Lahore. Additionally, matriculation-level practical tests in biology and computer science were postponed.
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) practical exams and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) theory exams that were scheduled for the same day were also postponed by BISE Multan. According to board officials, updated exam schedules will be made available soon.
