Belarusian President Lukashenko reaches in Pakistan on three-day official visit

ISLAMABAD: Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Pakistan on Monday on a three-day official visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and prominent businessmen.

The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral relations, with several agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to be signed between the two countries.

According to the Foreign Office, the aim of the visit is to deepen cooperation in sectors including trade, energy, agriculture and technology. President Lukashenko will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss bilateral relations and potential avenues of cooperation.

A 75-member Belarusian delegation arrived in Islamabad on Sunday ahead of the president’s arrival. The delegation includes the Belarusian Foreign Minister, Ministers of Energy, Justice, Communications and Natural Resources.

Several business leaders and representatives of Belarus’ industrial and agricultural sectors are also part of the group.
