ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq summoned the fourth meeting of the ongoing negotiations between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government on January 28.
In a recent notice, NA Speaker Sadiq, who has been overseeing the negotiations, summoned the session of negotiation between the Treasury and the Opposition at 11:45 pm on January 28.
In a talk with the reports, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and negotiation committee member Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said the party would not attend the fourth round of talks.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui, spokesperson for the government’s negotiation committee, has said that the PTI has been invited to the negotiation committee meeting, adding that the latter hasn’t informed in writing about calling off the talks.
He criticised the unpredictability of the opposing side, saying: “The issue is that the prison gates open, and someone suddenly makes an announcement without the negotiation committee even being informed.”
A day earlier, the meeting has been summoned after incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman, Imran Khan, on Wednesday, called off negotiation with the government as it did not announce the formation of the judicial commission to probe the May 9 and November 26 incidents.
PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, while talking to reporters outside Adiala Jail after the hearing of the Toshakhana-II case against Imran and his wife while quoting Khan, said that the PTI founding chairman said that with the passage of the deadline, now there will be no talks with the government.
