Govt launches anti-polio campaign 2026

Govt launches anti-polio campaign 2026

ISLAMABAD: The federal capital has officially started its second anti-polio campaign of 2026. This four-day initiative begins today and will continue until April 16.

Health teams will conduct a three-day door-to-door drive, while the final day serves as a catch-up day for missed children. Authorities have set a target to vaccinate 447614 children in Islamabad through this anti-polio campaign.

Assistant commissioners monitored the launch by participating in morning assemblies with frontline workers. The teams work to visit all city households so they can achieve complete citywide coverage.

Polio workers have also established special vaccination camps in hospitals, schools, and public places. DC Islamabad Irfan Memon stated that workers will reach every house under this campaign.

He urged all citizens to cooperate fully with the mobile teams to protect children from the virus. Public cooperation is necessary to eliminate the disease, according to Irfan Memon.

The district administration remains committed to a polio-free Pakistan through this organized anti-polio campaign. The health authorities encourage parents to ensure their children receive the life-saving drops at their doorstep or at nearby centers.
