Health requirements announced for Hajj 2026

Govt announces final date for Hajj dues submission

RIYADH: The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat reaffirmed that the safety and welfare of UAE pilgrims continue to be among its highest national priorities.

The Authority called upon all Hajj pilgrims to adhere to the latest health, awareness, and safety regulations announced by concerned authorities to carry out their rituals in a healthy and safe environment.

Strict Health Rules for Hajj 2026

The Authority states Saudi Arabia has issued revised health and immunization requirements for all who come to perform Hajj or seasonal work during the 1447H / 2026 pilgrimage season. Pilgrims are now required to provide a health declaration stating that they are disease-free and will be able to perform Hajj rituals.

Disabling conditions that exclude participation are organ failure, neurological or psychological illnesses impacting cognition, severe dementia, advanced pregnancy, and communicable diseases like pulmonary tuberculosis, hemorrhagic fevers, or active cancers for which treatment is ongoing.

Compulsory Vaccinations for Pilgrims

All UAE pilgrims are required to undergo the meningococcal and flu season vaccines sometime before travel for the next Hajj season. Additional immunizations, like COVID-19 and other vaccines, are also suggested by authorities based on individual health checks.

The General Authority announced that it would coordinate with the UAE health authorities to examine pilgrims’ medical reports to ensure complete compliance with such health standards.
