Punjab extends OPD hours in public hospitals

Punjab govt extends OPD hours in public hospitals

LAHORE: The Punjab Health Department has announced extended outpatient department (OPD) hours in all government teaching hospitals across the province, allowing patients more time to receive medical care.

According to the official notification, OPDs will now operate from 8am to 3pm on Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays, an increase of one hour from the previous schedule.

On Fridays, OPD services will run from 8am to 1pm.

A spokesperson for the Health Department stated that the change aims to accommodate more patients, reduce waiting times, and improve access to medical services, especially for those who travel from remote areas.

The revised timings apply to all teaching hospitals in Punjab, and administrations have been instructed to ensure strict adherence to the new schedule.
