KARACHI: Security personnel defused a bomb placed on the Awam Express train, which was heading from Peshawar to Karachi’s Cantt Station, averting a possible catastrophe.
Around nine o’clock at night, when the train arrived in Karachi, a sweeper noticed a suspicious-looking bag under seats 71 and 72 in coach number five. This raised the alarm.
The railroad management quickly realized how serious the situation was, so they notified the police, which resulted in the rapid deployment of a large number of police officers and rangers to platform two.
Before the bomb disposal unit arrived and carried out a thorough inspection, they promptly sealed off the area and discovered a five-kilogram explosive device.
When it was revealed that the bomb was rigged with two kilograms of explosives and deftly used a motorcycle battery, the dark sophistication of the scheme became clear.
The bomb disposal squad prevented a possible disaster by effectively neutralizing the threat while working under extreme pressure.

Sources within the bomb disposal unit disclosed that the time device was equipped with an ID bomb linked to a timer, underscoring the calculated nature of the danger.

In the aftermath of this chilling incident, the police department has initiated measures to locate and interview passengers who occupied the seats directly above the suspicious bag.
