Babar Azam was the natural captain, PCB decided to remove in haste, Matthew Hayden
Former coach of the Pakistan cricket team, legendary Australian batsman Matthew Hayden termed Babar Azam as a natural captain and said that the Pakistan Cricket Board was quick to decide to remove him.
There was regret and surprise over the change of captain. In an interview, he said that Pakistan faced various challenges in the World Cup 2023, for the green shirts, team performance is more important than captaincy.
They said that fast bowler Naseem Shah was injured, Shaheen Afridi’s performance was concerned and when Fakhar Zaman performed it was late, then Muhammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan’s performance was not good.

Matthew Hayden said that whoever decided Babar Azam’s captaincy ignored the facts, his performance as a player is much better than that of a captain, with a batting average of around 50 as a captain.
