Pak vs NZ: Mitch Santner tests positive for COVID-19 ahead of first T20I

Mitch Santner will not be accompanying New Zealand Cricket to Eden Park Stadium, the organization has announced via Twitter.

Mitchell Santner, a left-arm bowling all-rounder for New Zealand, tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the T20I series against Pakistan, which gets underway in Auckland, New Zealand, on Friday.

Santner will not be attending Friday night’s first Twenty20 International against the tourists at Eden Park Stadium, the New Zealand Cricket said in a tweet. The cricket player will be observed for a few days, according to the NZ cricket board.

“After testing positive for COVID earlier today, Mitch Santner will not be going to Eden Park this evening for the first KFC Twenty20 International against Pakistan. Over the next several days, he will be closely watched and make his own way back to Hamilton. The NZC wrote on X, “#NZvPAK.”
