KARACHI: In a recent development, Pakistani cricket legend Shahid Afridi announced the birth of his newest granddaughter by his eldest daughter Aqsa.
The joyous news was posted by Afridi on his social media account, which was met with an avalanche of congratulatory messages from his hundreds of thousands of fans on Instagram.
It is not the first time Afridi has been a grandfather. A grandson, Aliyaar, was born to Afridi’s second eldest daughter, Ansha, in August, with Ansha’s husband being Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi.
At the time he became the youngest cricketer in the world to become a grandfather, which attracted a lot of attention.
Related to the latest news being heard in recent days regarding Afridi for his comments on current events, he offered through social media platform X-(formerly on Twitter) his views on the commencement of legal proceedings against the former spy chief Lieutenant General (General) Faiz Hameed this month.
Afridi said this would give credibility to the story of self-accountability and diminish the idea about the high and mighty that they are above the law.
