Sindh govt to produce biopic on humanitarian icon Abdul Sattar Edhi

KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to make a film on the life of renowned social activist and founder of the Edhi Foundation, the late Abdul Sattar Edhi.

This was announced by Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon during a film festival held in Karachi. He said that India is using films effectively to spread its narrative globally, while this medium is not given much importance in Pakistan.

Sharjeel Memon said that there are innumerable historical and social stories in Pakistan, which, by making films, not only can our culture be highlighted but also the younger generation can be introduced to our heroes.

He stressed that making films on the lives of national figures, especially those who have rendered outstanding services in various fields, is the need of the hour.

The provincial minister said that the Sindh Information Ministry is preparing a film on the life of Abdul Sattar Edhi in collaboration with filmmaker Satish Anand. However, further details regarding the film were not provided at the moment.
