ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) banning the Indian airlines from flying through Pakistan Airspace for one Month on Thursday.
The notice is being issued following the decision made by the National Security Committee (NSC) chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other Civil and military leadership earlier today.
Initially, a one-month ban has been imposed on any kind of airplane owned or leased by the Indians. Further decision of restrictions will be made accordingly. According to reports.
These restrictions will cost the Indian airlines millions every day with additional fuel usage and longer routes to their destinations, as regularly, approximately 80 to 100 aircraft use Pakistani airspace.
The major airline companies include Air India, Air India Express, SpiceJet, IndiGo, and Akasa Air, are mostly affected by the ban and Indian flights operating from cities like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Delhi, and Goa will require up to 2 extra hours of travel time due to rerouted paths.
