ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court has rejected the lawyers’ request to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in the May 9 GHQ attack case.
During the hearing of the case in the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court, PTI lawyer Faisal Malik requested the court to allow him to meet the PTI founder for legal consultation.
On this occasion, Prosecutor Syed Zaheer Shah took the stand that the PTI founder is not arrested in this case but is in the custody of the jail authorities, therefore the authority to allow him to meet lies with the jail administration. According to the prosecutor, this matter does not fall within the jurisdiction of the Anti-Terrorism Court.
The court, agreeing with the prosecution’s arguments, dismissed the application filed by the lawyers.
