Barakahu magistrate seals Imtiaz Superstore over sugar sale complaints

BARAKAHU: The famous Imtiaz Superstore in BaraKahu was sealed by the duty magistrate after public complaints regarding sugar sales sparked a surprise raid on the premises.

According to reliable sources, residents complained that the store was not selling sugar openly and that some buyers seeking large quantities were unable to purchase. Acting on the complaints, the magistrate conducted a raid and sealed the superstore on the spot.

When contacted by phone, the store manager confirmed the closure, stating that the store would reopen tomorrow. He clarified that Imtiaz Superstore was purchasing sugar at high market prices but selling it at the official government rate, which limited bulk sales.

“Some people wanted to buy sugar in large quantities,” the manager explained. “Their complaints to the magistrate led to the store being sealed.”

The incident has stirred debate among local residents and social media users, with some defending the magistrate’s action and others calling it unfair to a store following official price rules.
