ISLAMABAD: In a major development for officers of the Civil Service Information Group, the government has approved the creation of 40 new posts in Grades 18, 19 and 20, paving the way for long-awaited promotions, according to sources.
Sources said 16 new posts in Grade 18 have been created, while 12 new posts each have been approved for Grades 19 and 20, bringing the total number of newly sanctioned positions to 40.
The approval is expected to resolve the issue of delayed promotions that Information Group officers have been facing for a long time and will strengthen the administrative structure of the cadre.
According to sources, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will hold a special ceremony to mark the approval of the new posts.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar is expected to attend the event as the chief guest, sources added.
