British Council exams cancelled amid rising situation

Balochistan Class VIII exams postponed to February 6: Here's why!

LAHORE: The Cambridge O and A-Level exams scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Lahore have been canceled owing to security concerns and the possibility of Indian drone attacks, according to British Council sources.

The decision, announced just before the scheduled exams, only applies to Lahore. Exams in Karachi, Islamabad, and other cities will proceed according to the original schedule, according to British Council sources.

Earlier, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU)  examinations scheduled for Thursday 8 May have been postponed in Azad Kashmir, according to a notification issued by the University.

The tests will now take place on June 17, 2025, according to the notification.

“Due to the prevailing security situation, it is hereby notified that AIOU’s final examinations scheduled to be held today on 08 May 2025 (Thursday) at exam centers established in the following Regions are hereby postponed”, the notification reads.

The centers include the whole region of Muzzafarabad, Mirpur, and Rawalakot as per the notification.
