BRT Peshawar fares increased per stop from July 1

KP cabinet approves 50 new BRT buses, key institutional mergers

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a hike in fares for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service due to its growing financial losses.

The authority has increased the per-stop fare by Rs 10, effective from July 1, 2025.

As per official documents, passengers traveling up to 5 kilometers will now pay Rs30, instead of the previous Rs20.

For longer trips up to 40 kilometers, the fare will rise from Rs60 to Rs70. The price of a single-ride ticket is also being raised from Rs60 to Rs70.

The Transport Department stated that the increase is necessary to help reduce the financial losses faced by the BRT project.
