Bushra Bibi granted bail in 32 cases related to Nov 26 protest

Bushra Bibi bail in 32 cases

RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has granted interim bail to former prime minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi in 32 cases related to the November 26 protest.

ATC Special Judge Amjad Ali Shah approved her bail and ordered police to not arrest the former first lady until January 13, 2025.

The court issued the order on the bail petitions filed by Bushra Bibi’s legal counsel, Muhammad Faisal Malik for her in all 32 cases registered in various police stations across Rawalpindi, Attock, and Chakwal.

The court also issued notices to the investigating officers of the cases, instructing them to provide relevant records.

During the hearing, she was present in the courtroom and submitted the required surety bonds to secure her bail.

Following the hearing, the judge approved Bushra Bibi’s bail, allowing her to leave the court premises.

A day earlier, the two-member Peshawar High Court bench extended the protective bail of Bushra Bibi until January 16 and accepted her exemption request from appearing in court.

The petitioner’s lawyer Alam Khan Adeenzai, Additional Attorney General Sanaullah, NAB Special Deputy Prosecutor General Mohammad Ali, and Additional Advocate General Inamullah appeared.
