Commercial zones declared no parking area in Quetta

QUETTA: In a significant step to improve urban mobility and enhance pedestrian safety, the Commissioner Quetta, Mr. Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, has announced the designation of key commercial zones as No parking and No carting zones, immediately.

Liaquat Bazaar, Kandahari Bazaar, and Prince Road have been identified as high-density areas where parking and carting will no longer be allowed.

The move is aimed at reducing traffic bottlenecks, improving access for shoppers, and creating a cleaner and more organized urban environment.

In addition to these restrictions, Jinnah Road (near Manan Chowk) will be reserved exclusively for pedestrian use daily from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The initiative is intended to facilitate safe evening movement for citizens, especially during peak shopping hours.

The Commissioner urged full cooperation from citizens, vendors, and transporters, emphasizing the collective responsibility to uphold city regulations and maintain public order. He also reiterated that the initiative aligns with the directives issued by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Balochistan.

Law enforcement agencies, district administration, and municipal staff have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the new measures. Violators may face penalties in accordance with the law.
