Court issues non-bailable arrest warrant for KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur

Court issues non-bailable arrest warrant for CM Ali Amin

ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Islamabad has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in a case related to the possession of illegal arms and liquor.

The court rejected Gandapur’s plea for exemption from appearance on medical grounds and directed the Barakahu police station house officer (SHO) to arrest him and produce him before the court.

Civil Judge Shaista Khan Kundi dismissed Gandapur’s request for exemption from attendance, citing medical reasons, and ordered his immediate arrest.

The court’s decision comes in response to Gandapur’s failure to appear before the court in the ongoing case against him.

The non-bailable arrest warrant marks a significant development in the case, which has been ongoing for some time. Gandapur’s arrest is expected to follow, pending any further legal developments or interventions.

The case dates back to October 30, 2016, when Gandapur was allegedly part of an illegal gathering that defied the orders of the District Magistrate.

The court is now seeking answers on two crucial points, whether Gandapur was present at the scene of the incident and what actions he took during the incident.

The court’s pursuit of clarification on these points suggests a renewed focus on determining Gandapur’s level of involvement in the 2016 incident, and his actions and presence during the illegal gathering will be under scrutiny as the case moves forward.
