MANDI BAHAUDDIN: In a heartbreaking incident, the dead body of a girl who went missing on the first day of Eid ul Adha was found today in the Malakwal tehsil of Mandi Bahauddin district of Punjab.
As per detail, an 8-year-old girl, Kiran Shahzadi, was allegedly raped and murdered after being kidnapped.
The body of the victim was recovered from a rice field in Muradwal village.
According to the police, the deceased went to a nearby shop around 3 pm on the first day of Eid and did not return. The Malakwal police registered a missing person report on the complaint of the girl’s mother.
Later today, Kiran’s body was recovered, and as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took possession of the body, and shifted it to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Malakwal.
The body of the girl was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Mandi Bahauddin, for postmortem, and police have started the investigation.
In the light of initial evidence and statements of the family, it is suspected that the girl was allegedly raped after being kidnapped and murdered and her body was thrown into the field, police said.
