PESHAWAR: The special anti-terrorism court in Peshawar has sent a letter to the Accountant General’s Office to stop the salaries of 8 officials, including the DG Excise, for not complying with court orders.
The letter issued by the court states that a drug-related case has been pending since December 7, 2024, in which seven officers of the Excise Police Station have been named as prosecution witnesses. Despite being issued notices several times, the witnesses did not appear in court.
As per details, the letter also states that the DG Excise was also given notices to appear in court repeatedly, however, the court orders were not implemented. The case is continuously being delayed due to the non-appearance of witnesses.
