Emirates flight makes emergency landing in Karachi after GPS disruption

KARACHI: An Emirates Airlines flight barely escaped a severe accident after suffering GPS problems as it approached Karachi’s airspace, according to media reports.

The incident occurred when Emirates flight EK-606 was ready to arrive at Jinnah International Airport.

According to aviation authorities, the aircraft, which was flying at 3,000 feet, saw a significant disturbance in its GPS signals, which concerned the flight crew.

The pilot promptly notified Karachi’s air traffic control (ATC) about the problem. Air traffic controllers responded quickly with manual direction to help the aircraft land safely.

Despite the unexpected technical difficulties, the plane made an emergency landing with no reported casualties.
