ISLAMABAD: The Fact Checker cell of Pakistan’s Ministry of Information has rejected claims that suggest a Pakistani pilot is under the custody of the Indians, stating them as a total lie and fake.
In an interview with a local media channel, the Information Minister Attaullah Tarar refuted these claims, categorizing them as senseless and fabricated.
Tarar trolling India said, “Get out of your B-tier Bollywood mindset” in regards to the spreading of false information. He also stressed that claims are an attempt to build unnecessary tension and falsehood.
This development comes after an Indian journalist, Barkha Dutt, published a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, claiming that a Pakistani pilot is in captivity by Indians, and further details will be disclosed later.
However, according to the Pakistani government, the claims made by Dutt are erroneous, urging the citizens to Don‘t buy into fake news“.
It is important to note here that this is not the first time Indian media or politicians have been accused of spreading false and baseless information. It should be noted that since the tensions between Pakistan and India began, Indian media have been spreading fake news to promote false propaganda against Pakistan, trying to destroy its image internationally.
The swift denial from the Pakistani government demonstrates its effort to create legitimate information and help fight against misinformation. The situation acts as a demonstration of the need to verify information from credible sources before sharing.
