ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Sunday slapped a ban on the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) and declared it a proscribed organization, citing peace and security concerns.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior, the decision was taken after PTM was found involved in certain activities which are prejudicial to the peace and security of the country.
Manzoor Pashteen-led part was declared as a proscribed organization under section 11B of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 (XXVII of 1997), the notification added.
