Firing reported from Afghan Side, Pakistan opts for responsible response: Info Minsitry

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly denied Afghan allegations regarding the firing incident at the Chaman border.

The Ministry of Information has said in this regard that the government strongly rejects the claims spread by the Afghan side regarding the incident that took place at the Pak-Afghan border in Chaman today.

The firing was initiated by Afghanistan, to which the Pakistani security forces responded promptly, responsibly, and measuredly.

The Ministry of Information has said that Pakistan is committed to border discipline and peace and stability in the region, and every necessary measure will be taken for its territorial integrity and the protection of its citizens.

The Ministry of Information has said that some elements from Afghanistan opened unprovoked firing on Pakistani posts at the Chaman border, the security forces responded promptly and effectively, and responded to the fire responsibly.

The firing was initiated by Afghanistan, and the situation was brought under control with the responsible action of the Pakistani forces, and now, the ceasefire remains in force.

The Ministry of Information said that Pakistan is committed to the ongoing talks and expects cooperation from the Afghan authorities.
