ISLAMABAD: The federal government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have resumed talks to lower the political temperature, here on Wednesday.
As per the details, PTI leaders met National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq at the Speaker House, which was also attended by Barrister Gohar, Omar Ayub, Sahibzada Hamid Raza and Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Azam Nazir Tarar.
According to reports, it was decided to use the parliament as a platform for negotiations. The speaker proposed to use the parliament for negotiations, a proposal that was accepted by both the PTI and the government.
The talks will be without any preconditions. The aim is to reduce political instability and ongoing tensions in the country. Both parties will soon announce the names of their negotiating committee members after consultations.
PTI has started contacting the government for talks and has also backed down from its previous demands.
Earlier, PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Asad Qaiser also met Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
It is worth mentioning that PTI had approached the government for talks and the government had accepted PTI’s offer to create an atmosphere of reconciliation.
Government sources said that PTI’s offer of talks was accepted to promote an atmosphere of reconciliation, emphasizing that the way forward in politics is not disagreement but dialogue.
PTI has backed down from its previous demands and is now seeking a judicial commission for the incidents of May 9 and November 26.
