Govt revises markets timings

Budget 2026-27 likely to introduce fixed tax scheme for small traders

LAHORE: The Punjab government has lifted the restriction on closing shops, markets, shopping malls, hotels, and restaurants at 8 pm till June 1, 2026.

According to officials, all businesses across Punjab will now be allowed to operate beyond the previously imposed 8 pm deadline during the temporary relaxation period. The decision applies only to Punjab and will remain effective until June 1, 2026.

Authorities say the move was taken to facilitate businesses and ease commercial activity across the province.
